Lecturers from Latvia – Diana Apele and Gita Lipenite from RTU Rezekne Academy – visited the Fashion Design Department of the Faculty of Arts and Design at Vilnius College. The visit took place under the Erasmus+ teaching mobility program and was aimed at strengthening academic cooperation and exchanging experiences.
The guests were warmly welcomed by the Head of the Fashion Design Department, Grazina Skripkiene, along with lecturers and students who actively participated in all activities of the visit – from presentations and discussions to creative work. The teaching visit program included both theoretical and practical parts: during the theoretical session, contemporary textile crafts and textile art practices in Latvia were presented, creative directions and innovations were discussed, while in the practical part, students took part in creative workshops working with textile printing techniques. The hands-on work encouraged experimentation, creative thinking, and the application of theoretical knowledge through direct experience.
During the visit, opportunities for developing design study programs, student and lecturer exchanges were also discussed, best practices were shared, and future collaboration prospects were considered.
